Meet Dr Moiz Moghal
Consultant in Sport, Exercise & Musculoskeletal Medicine

Dr Moiz Moghal combines decades of clinical expertise with experience working at the highest levels of international sport. Alongside his role as a Consultant at Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, he has held senior medical positions across professional football, international hockey, and elite cricket.

Education and training
Dr Moiz Moghal graduated in medicine from the University of Sheffield in 2002 and completed his GP training within the London Deanery, becoming a Member of the Royal College of General Practitioners in 2011. He went on to undertake higher specialist training in Sport & Exercise Medicine through the Oxford Deanery, during which he also completed a Diploma in Sport & Exercise Medicine awarded by the Royal College of Surgeons.
He holds a Master’s degree in Sport, Exercise & Health from University College London and is a Fellow of the Faculty of Sport & Exercise Medicine. Dr Moghal is listed on the GMC Specialist Register for Sport & Exercise Medicine and has undertaken advanced training in musculoskeletal ultrasound, image-guided injections, and sports injury management.
Research and teaching
Dr Moghal has a strong commitment to education and research, having served as a Clinical Examiner for the University of Bath’s MSc in Sport & Exercise Medicine and as an Educational Supervisor for specialist trainees in Oxford. His recent research has focused on the impact of COVID-19 on elite athletes, including recovery timelines and long-term effects on performance. He is a member of the Faculty of Sport & Exercise Medicine Team Care Committee and has recently been appointed as a Board Member for UK Anti-Doping.
